Not the same as the 4/6/66 Curses show [Jim] Did the 1-30-76 Witch Doctor Chants tape have a bunch of bad sections? Throughout the show the audio cuts in and out. [Max] Yes, there were many missing segments - I downloaded the FHC copy, converted to .wav and matched the level, and meticulously cut in the missing parts. Either you got the bad original, or going from MP3 to wav to MP3 doesn't work out too well. I'll have to check that out. Don't know if you remember, but were the drop-outs only in commercials? I have actually prepared two versions of this Meyers series. I made the MP3 files from the masters, so that's why you got the bad copy. The corrected version has been cut down for CD release, with the bad commercials removed. I'm rather surprised I didn't save an uncut copy of the repaired show - very unlike me not to. My intention was (and still is) to cut out enough commercials from these shows to get two shows on a CD. Since there is so much duplication of commercials, and they are in no way Shep-related, I thought it would be a better value to continue to offer two shows per medium, whether CD or cassette. That's why I annotated all of these shows in detail, focusing on the commercials, so that when I did the editing, at least one example of every commercial would stay in the set. The same damn John Barleycorn ad is on practically every show, even plugging a New Year's Eve party for a week or two into the new year! Since so many of these shows are reruns to begin with, and the commercials added in for 1976, I really don't think this is taking too much liberty with the material. If I haven't already sent you those notes, I can, but bear in mind, it was more of a commercial log for me than going into great detail on the content of the shows. Not sure if there's enough detail for an actual show summary, but maybe, if it saves you any time.
