Show Description
Shep acknowledges John A. Gambling's passing and how he was a radio pioneer. He talks about the roles that radio engineers and others in the businees had in early radio. He describes the makeup and equipment of the early stations. He plays an early Chevy commercial that was done on WOR in 1931. Evolution of old radio shows into television
[ Courtesy: David Goldin - 05-21-2024 ] Shep mentions that John A. Gambling passed away today and then recalls the very early days of radio. He plays a commercial for the 1932 Chevrolet and says that he's not responsible for all the commercials on his show. Shep asks trivia questions about old time radio. After the program, Lester Smith announces that the show was pre-recorded and it was really John B. Gambling who died.
