"Old Man River"
...and more
Speaking of the Yankees and a game played against the Chicago White Sox earlier that day:

Comments
• The Yankees went 70 - 89 in 1966 and finished in 10th place. Shep was right - it was a desperate season.
The Original poem "Casey at the Bat" appeared in the San Francisco Examiner on June 3, 1888 and can be read here:

Notes from Max:
The only Chicago game in April 1963 - 04-24-1963 vs Chicago. This is a Wednesday.
Further evidence of 1963 - Shep says "Mets win, Yankees lose". (Yankees won 6-4, Mets lost 2-0)
This happened in 1963, the reverse was true in 1964. In 1963 (4/24), both the Yankees and Mets were playing the Chicago teams. In 1964, the Mets were off on 4/22.
Confirmation of 1963 as the year - the show ends at midnight, followed by Long John. The show went to 10:15 in Feb of 1964.
