Shep sent a postcard to Lois Nettleton who was the "Listener" on his WOR show circa 1957 and ultimately became his wife in 1960. The post card reads "Sunday Feb 25, 57 Amsterdam - Darling God, I miss you!! Coffee here great. I'll have so much to tell you. Ireland was a real night people town (Dublin) Holland - Day People all the way. Met all the Abbey Players had quite a night with them. Be good Remember! Love J." NOTE - Feb 25, 1957 was actually a Monday - the time shifts must have confused Shep.
