From the 2-16-1967 Gettysburg Times: Jean Shepherd To Appear At College Jean Shepherd, humorist, radio personality and author of "In God We Trust - All Others Pay Cash," will appear in the rear ballroom and Bullet Hole of the Gettysburg College Student Union at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, February 23. Shepherd, often described as the leading satirist of the Underground, is known to large audiances in tha East as a cool and savage wit for his commentary over Radio WOR, New York, each evening. His Saturday night show originates live from "The Iimelight," a nightclub in Greenwich Village. As an actor he has appeared in leading roles in "New Faces" and "Asylum" by Arthur Kopit. Shepherd is the author of several screenplays, a forthcoming Broadway sctipt and articles for national magazines. A story in "Playboy" won the magazines 1965 Humor/Satire Award. His anlhology, "The America of George Ade," was published in 1962.
