On August 31, 1960 Shep appeared on the TV show "I've Got A Secret" hosted by Garry Moore. On the show, the panel tried to guess Shep's secret which was that he would play "The Shiek of Araby" on his head! A portion of this episode was played again on June 21, 1961 during a 9th anniversay show featuring highlights of the panels favorite moments. This one was selected by panelist Bess Meyerson. Shep mentions the appearance on his August 21, 1960 show

A portion of this episode was played again on June 21, 1961 during a 9th anniversay show featuring highlights of the panels favorite moments. This one was selected by panelist Bess Meyerson. According to David Schwartz at Game Show Network on 11-19-2001: Jean first appeared on the I've Got a Secret broadcast of 8/31/60. A segment was included on the 9th anniversary show broadcast of 6/21/61. Unfortunately the 1960 show does not exist in our inventory. We just aired the 1961 episode this past weekend. I wrote back: Thanks for the information, but I am positive that the full show was played on GSN during "Black and White Sunday" a few years ago. You sure about the date? I remember seeing the anniversay show, but it did not show the whole 'guess the secret' segment, only the actual "head thumping" portion.
